When McLaren announced the Elva supercar it also announced a price of $1,690,000. Of course this is a lot, but is not unexpected for a supercar limited to only 399 units. As no surprise of course all those 399 units were spoken for in a mater of hours.
Right now tho someone is asking for €2,975,000, or $3,295,730 at today’s exchange rates, for the Elva supercar. Well, not for the supercar itself as it is not on sale yet, but for a build spot. Would you pay double the price for it? We know for sure there is going to be someone interested in the spot, but we also know for sure McLaren is not going to be very excited about this transaction.
As a reminder, the McLaren Elva is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbocharged McLaren V-8 engine that delivers a total of 815 PS or 804 horsepower. This output makes it the most powerful non-hybrid McLaren and the second most powerful in the entire McLaren lineup – after the Speetail that delivers a total of 1036 horsepower. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in less than three seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in just 6.7 seconds.
