Mercedes Teases New AMG GT 73

Right now the Mercedes-AMG GT lineup includes three models: GT 53, GT 63 and the GT 63+. Of course the most powerful one is the GT 63+ with a total output of 630 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, but in the same time is also very expensive: $161,200.

However, it looks like Mercedes-AMG is about to add a more powerful version to the lineup. It will be called GT73 and it is supposed to be the production version of the original AMG GT Concept. Under the hood it will get the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine from the rest of the GT lineup, but with an added electric motor at the rear axle. This way the output is rumored to go up to 800 horsepower. With the extra 170 horsepower, it should be easy enough for the GT 73 to go from 0 to 60 mph in about 2.5 seconds.

The new GT 73 is expected to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show and go on sale later after.
