Genesis Reveals The First Pictures Of The 2021 GV80

    2021 Genesis GV80

Genesis was supposed to unveil the new GV80 in December, but because of some technical issues, the launch was postponed until sometime in January. However, we know have the first teaser images – which are quite revealing actually – and the first images of the GV80.

The new 2021 GV80 will be the fourth model in Genesis lineup – next to the G70, G80 and G90, but will be the first SUV offered. The new GV80 will be built on the same rear-wheel-drive platform unique to the Genesis brand; all-wheel drive will be optional.

The production version features a design language we first saw back in 2017 when Genesis launched the GV80 Concept. The SUV’s design is a collaboration between Genesis Design studios located in South Korea, the United States and Germany.

It is of course very easy to recognize it as a Genesis car. Upfront there is a Crest Grille surrounded by high-tech Quad Lamps – Genesis’ design signature. The Parabolic Line runs smoothly along the side with precise execution, accentuated by power lines above each wheel emphasizing stance and presence.

The interior of the GV80 combines minimalism with luxury – an idea we’ve already seen in all the other Genesis cars. The slim air vents stretch across the front to highlight the width of the cabin featuring minimal physical buttons with the new touch screen climate control. The center console is equipped with a jewel-like, rotating electronic gear selector, providing an exquisite balance of simplicity and glamor.

The new GV80 will go on sale in South Korea in January 2020. All the other markets will have to wait a little bit longer.
