After being teased for quite a while now, the new Fisker Ocean SUV made its world debut at the 2020 CES. Deliveries for the new electric SUV will begin in 2022, but you can reserve it for $250 for either the full purchase option or the flexible lease program. If you are interested in a full purchase, the price for the Ocean SUV starts at $37,499. After the U.S. federal tax credit is applied, the cost of the Fisker Ocean drops to a starting price of $29,999.
Few details are available on the SUV at the moment, but Fisker did announce a very cool feature for it. The 2022 Ocean will be offered with a full-length solar roof that will help you get 1000 free, clean miles per year.
In fact, the entire car is about being environmental-friendly. The carpeting is made from regenerated nylon, which is made from abandoned fishing net waste – pulled from the oceans and aquaculture. The interior is all vegan and features 100% Polycarbonate Polyurethane surfaces and 100% reinforced Rayon backing.
Also, Fisker announced it will use discarded rubber waste generated during tire manufacturing.
As for the drivetrain, Fisker announced that all SUVs will come standard with an extended range – about 250-300 miles. This will be ensured by an approx. 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
Fisker will begin production of the new Ocean SUV at the end of 2021 – with the first high-volume deliveries projected for 2022. The company also has hopes that between 2022 and 2027 it will sell more than 1 million vehicles.
