Porsche started its “play” with the electric world in 2015 when they revealed the Mission E Concept. Things evolved a lot since then and today we’ve finally seen the production version Taycan. Today we’ve only seen the Turbo and the Turbo S versions of the Taycan, but Porsche promised that less powerful variants of these all-wheel drive vehicles will follow this year. The Taycan Cross Turismo will be added by the end of 2020, and even more electric cars will arrive in the next years, as Porsche will have invested more than 6.6 billion dollars in electric mobility.

Even if we are looking at an electric sedan, the performance figures numbers make us think we are looking at a supercar. For example, the Turbo S version can deliver up to 750 horsepower (in combination with Launch Control and overboost), while the standard Turbo version goes up to 670 horsepower. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in 2.6 seconds and 3.0 seconds, respectively, while top speed for both cars is limited to 161 mph.

Porsche Taycan is the first electric car to use a system voltage of 800 volts instead of the commonly used 400 volts, a system that allows for a charging time from five to 80 percent State of Charge (SoC) of just 22.5 minutes. The Taycan Turbo ensures a range of 450 kilometers, while the Turbo S has a range of 412 kilometers.

The new Porsche Taycan Turbo S and Porsche Taycan Turbo are priced from 185,456 euros and 152,136 euros respectively in Germany, while in the U.S.A prices start from $187,610 for the Taycan Turbo S and from $153,310 for the Taycan Turbo.
