Lately it looks like we are seeing a new record at Nurburgring everyday Today is Porsche’s turn to set new standards at the famous ring. Their upcoming Porsche Taycan became the fastest four-door, all-electric sports cars on the Nürburgring. The electric sedan managed to run the 20.6-kilometre course in just seven minutes and 42 seconds. Maybe this is not as impressive as the 5 minutes and 19.55 seconds record set with the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo earlier this year, but is still a very impressive result. The Taycan was driven to success by Porsche test driver Lars Kern.

In order to prepare for this result, the Taycan was put to extreme testings. It started with 26 successive acceleration runs from zero to 200 km/h. Then it completed 3,425 kilometers within 24 hours in Nardò without any issues. Temperatures ranged from 42 degrees Celsius – outside up to 54 degrees Celsius – track temperature.

The new Porsche Taycan will make its world debut on September 4th and then its first public appearance at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.
