Those of you into car racing know that Jacky Ickx is one of the greatest sports car drivers to have ever lived. He won the 24 Hours of Le Mans six times: 1969, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1981 and 1982, achieved eight wins and 25 podium finishes in Formula One and also won the Can-Am Championship in 1979.
Now, on his 75th birthday Porsche unveiled the special edition 911 Belgian Legend Edition, the first special edition based on the new 992.
The 911 Belgian Edition features the same colors you have seen on Ickx’s trademark blue and white helmet. Therefore, it features a bespoke ‘X Blue’ exterior paint, combined with a badge showing the Belgian flag and Jacky Ickx’s signature on the driver-side B-pillar. The car rides on 20/21inch Carrera Classic wheels featuring subtle white accents – a reference to Ickx’s helmet, which traditionally features a fine white line around the visor.
The interior is trimmed in black leather with Pebble Grey cross stitching on the dashboard, door panel and rear trim, all of which was painstakingly finished by hand.
Of course, all units will be offered with a leather central armrest embossed with Ickx’s autograph and the ‘Belgian Legend Edition’ moniker on the car’s carbon door sill guards.
The 911 Belgian Legend Edition will be limited to only 75 units and will only be offered in Belgium.
