While everyone’s attention is now focused on the 2020 Shelby GT500, Ford is also trying to keep the Shelby GT350R fresh. So, for the 2020 model year, the muscle car received a series of upgrades om both look and performance – all inspired of course by the GT500.

The most important one is a redesigned front suspension geometry with a redesigned high-trail steering, a new steering rack and recalibrated electric power steering control – all coming from the GT500.

Ford is also offering new exterior colors, and as standard equipment the GT350R gets carbon fiber wheels, larger front splitter and rear wing, plus of course carbon fiber wheels – that help with weight reduction. On the interior, the rear seats are deleted – also a weight saving measure. However, if you are one of the customers looking for more comfort in your GT340R you can also opt for an available Technology Package with a 12-speaker B&O premium sound system, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Cobra Puddle Lamps and voice-activated navigation.

For those of you whom do not know how to differentiate the GT350R from the GT350 here are some helpful tips: the GT350R gets red painted brake calipers, red pin striping at the edges of the optional over-the-top racing stripes and Shelby GT350R badging.
