After making its world debut at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the all-electric Evija went into a world tour. Its latest stop was in the United Arab Emirates.
The Evija is the first all-electric British hypercar and features an ultra-advanced all-electric powertrain. It has been developed with technical partner Williams Advanced Engineering, famed for success in motorsport, from Formula One to electrifying the first four seasons of Formula E. Lotus is promising an output of 2000 horsepower – the world’s most powerful series production road car.
The sprint from 0 to 60 mph will be made in under 3 seconds, while top speed will be over 200 mph. Lotus is also promising a pure electric driving range target of 250 miles (400 km).
The 2020 Evija will also offer five driving modes – Range, City, Tour, Sport and Track and promises a target weight of just 1,680 kg – making it the lightest pure electric hypercar ever to go into series production.
Lotus Evija will be limited to only 130 examples – as a tribute to the car that inspired it – the Type 130. Prices will start from £1.7m plus duties and taxes. Of course all the units were spoken for!
