After being revealed in 2018, the new generation RS4 has just received a minor facelift. No major updates were done, but the front has been redesigned to look like the recently launched RS6 Avant. The RS4 now features a new grille in three-dimensional honeycomb structure and painted gloss black, redesigned LED headlights, an RS-specific roof edge spoiler, optional RS sport exhaust system with black tailpipe trims.
On the interior things remained pretty much unchanged, with the biggest improvement being the 10.1-inch MMI touch display is the control center of the new operating system.
The 2020 Audi RS4 Avant is powered by a 2.7 liter V-6 engine that delivers a total of 450 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. With the extra 70 horsepower, the 2020 RS4 goes from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds – down from 4.7 seconds. Top speed remains limited to 155 mph, but if you opt for the dynamic package you can increase it to 174 mph.
The engine sends its power via a sporty eight-speed tiptronic to all four wheels. In regular driving, the system delivers more power to the rear axle. Its purely mechanical center differential directs 60 percent of the torque to the rear axle and 40 percent to the front.
The new RS 4 Avant will be at dealerships as of December 2019. Prices for the high-performance Avant start at EUR 81,400.
