The Audi A5 made its world debut in 2007 when it made quite an impression on the automotive world. In 2016 Audi brought a new generation and now at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show is time to see a new facelift for the entire A5 lineup.
Most of the updates where made on the outside, with the front end being the one that was significantly revised. The Singleframe with the honeycomb grille is now flatter and somewhat wider, while the ventilation slits above the grille are reminiscent of the classic Audi Sport quattro from 1984. The front bumper was also revised, and it now features larger air inlets. For the rear Audi is offering a redesigned diffuser insert with trapezoidal tailpipes.
The interior also received a series of small updates, starting with a larger MMI touch display and a multicolor contour/ambient lighting package. The rotary pushbutton used in previous models were replaced by a 10.1-inch touch display with acoustic feedback, making the graphics clean and reduced. The MMI search has been enriched with natural-language voice control, while new functions also make navigation intelligent and intuitive. These fuctions include Audi connect and Audi connect plus, Car-to-X service traffic light information, myAudi app and the optional digital Audi connect key.
At its launch, the A5 will be offered with four engines, all equipped with a mild hybrid system (MHEV).
In Germany prices will start from 42,900 euro for the A5 Coupé 40 TFSI with 12 V MHEV and 190 horsepower.
